Name of Dissertation Thesis: Holistic aspects in the elderly care

Course of plea:
1. 1. The student was introduced by the supervisor.
2. The student presented her Dissertation Thesis, Holistic aspects in the elderly care, with the help of MS Power Point presentation. The goal of the Thesis was to investigate the life style of seniors living in seniors' homes, the way of their contacts with family members and friends, their chronic diseases, their use of aids and the level of change of their life style in old age. On the base of the results, the student tried to propose a standard for provision of health and social care to reflect any possible drawbacks. The data ascertained with the help of two questionnaires were presented in statistical connections. The student included essential connections in the standard proposal.
3. The supervisor and the external examiners presented their opinions. The supervisor highlighted the analysis performed by the student, including the results predicting need of special workers to work with the clients. One of the external examiners asked several questions:
"How did you chose the respondents?"
"Explain the predominance of women."
"How are volunteers represented in the work of institutions?"
"Which other activities are available, besides music therapy and art therapy, particularly with regard to gender structure?"
The student answered all questions; she had known the questions and had her answers prepared within her presentation. The external examiner was satisfied by her answers.
4. Question of the president of the commission: "Can seniors bring their own animals within their activities?" The student's answer: "Fish in tank at the maximum; otherwise it is perceived as hygienic problem."
The commission did not have further questions.
