| dc.description.abstract | Disertační práce je zaměřena na diverzitu a evoluční historii jepic (Ephemeroptera) Kavkazu, jakožto jedné z biologicky nejrozmanitějších oblastí Palearktu. Úvod poskytuje obecné informace ohledně evolučních mechanismů vedoucích k vysoké diverzitě horské bioty, vysvětluje procesy evoluční diverzifikace u vodního hmyzu, a shrnuje aktuální stav znalostí ohledně diverztity a rozšíření jepic na Kavkaze. Jádro práce tvoří pět publikovaných článků a jeden rukopis, rozdělené tématicky do čtyř kapitol. První kapitola je zaměřena na diverzitu a distribuci jepic Arménie, druhá a třetí se zabývají integrativní taxonomií a identifikací zástupců podrodu Epeorus (Caucasiron), jednoho z druhově nejbohatších taxonů kavkazských jepic. Poslední kapitola se týká původu, historické biogeografie a evoluce podrodu Caucasiron, jakožto vybrané modelové skupiny pro výzkum evoluční historie kavkazských jepic. Tato kapitola popisuje, kdy a za jakých okolností došlo ke vzniku druhového spektra jepic na Kavkaze, obsahujícího řadu endemitů. Disertační práce je doplněna detailním shrnutím výsledků a rozborem perspektiv pro budoucí výzkum kavkazských jepic. | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | This dissertation thesis is focused on the diversity and evolutionary
history of mayflies (Ephemeroptera) from the Caucasus, one of the most
biologically diverse areas of the Palaearctic realm. The introduction
details general information about the evolutionary mechanisms leading
to the high diversity of mountain biota, the processes driving
evolutionary diversification in aquatic insects, and the current state of
knowledge on the diversity and distribution of mayflies in the Caucasus.
The core of the thesis consists of five published articles and one
manuscript, which are divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals
with the diversity and distribution of mayflies from Armenia, the second
and third are focused on diversity, integrative taxonomy, and
identification of Epeorus (Caucasiron), one of the most diverse mayflies
in the Caucasus. The last chapter is focused on the origin, historical
biogeography, and evolutionary diversification of Caucasiron, the model
group selected for the evolutionary study of mayflies from the Caucasus.
The chapter describes when and under which circumstances Caucasian
mayfly endemism and diversity developed. The thesis is concluded with
a detailed summary of the results, and future perspectives in the research
of Caucasian mayflies. | eng |
