| dc.description.abstract | V centru zájmu předkládané disertační práce je zastupitelský úřad Velké Británie v Československu a jeho chod v letech 1918-1930. Vyslanectví v Praze koordinovalo aktivitu britských diplomatů na území nově vzniklé republiky. V úvodní kapitole je téma práce ukotveno teoreticky a metodologicky. Vlastní analytická část práce se nejprve zaměřuje na mezinárodní kontext vzniku a rozvoje bilaterálních vztahů mezi Spojeným královstvím a Československem v období po první světové válce. Následně se zájem přesouvá k otázkám fungování instituce. V textu jsou zhodnoceny finanční i personální aspekty chodu ambasády. Práce také detailně přibližuje problematiku umístění sídla legace. Závěrečná kapitola je věnována životům nejvýznamnějších osobností, které v průběhu prvních dvanácti poválečných let v československé metropoli vykonávaly službu. | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | In the center of interest of the presented thesis is the embassy of Great Britain in the former Czechoslovakia in the years of 1918-1930. The embassy in Prague coordinated the activity of British diplomats on the territory of the newly established republic. In the first chapter, the topic of the work is defined theoretically and methodologically. The forthcoming analysis is focused on the international context of the emergence and development of bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Czechoslovakia in the mentioned period. Subsequently, the interest of the work changes to the issues of the operation of the institution. Financial and personnel aspects are evaluated in the text. The work also takes a closer look on the question of the legation´s headquarters. The end of the work is focused on the lives of the most important personalities who served in the Czechoslovak capital during the first twelve post-war years. | eng |
