| dc.description.abstract | Práce bude zaměřena na podrobnou analýzu (close reading) dobrodružné série Řada nešťastných příhod Lemony Snicketa (Daniela Handlera), zaměřenou na téma nejistoty a nejednoznačnosti konkrétních motivů, postav i situací. Teoretickými východisky budou jak literárně teoretické (Botting, Coats, Mendlesohn), tak psychologické studie (Jung, Heidbrink). Vlastní interpretace bude zaměřena na posouzení nejistoty a nejednoznačnosti motivů v kontextu etické problematiky (relativita dobra a zla, bezpečí a nebezpečí, dětství a dospělosti). Konkrétně se práce zamyslí nad nejasnostmi spojenými s postavou a jménem Beatrice, s tajnou společností a jejím názvem (D.P.), s významem cukřenky, s funkcí intertextuálních odkazů i s otázkou počátku a konce příběhu. V neposlední řadě bude pozornost věnována psychologickému a etickému kontextu tématu sirotka a prvkům morality v analyzovaných příbězích. | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | The main aim of this thesis is a detailed analysis of the story of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket (Daniel Handler). Literary theory (Botting, Coats, Mendlesohn) and psychological studies (Jung, Heidbrink) will be used to interpret specific motives, characters and situations in the means of uncertainty and ambiguity they represent in the context of ethical issues (relativity of good and evil, safety and danger, childhood and adulthood). Specifically, the work will reflect on the ambiguity associated with the name Beatrice, the secret society (V.F.D.), the meaning of the sugar bowl, the function of intertextual references, and the question of the beginning and the end of the story. Finally, attention will be paid to the psychological and ethical context of the topic of the orphan and the elements of morality in the analysed stories. | eng |
