dc.description.abstract-translatedThe NS1 is one of seven non-structural proteins of the tick-borne encephalitis virus. NS1 protein share a high degree of homology among flaviviruses. Protein self-induces protective immune responses against flaviviruses and therefore is frequently used as a marker of viral infection. The structure and function of the NS1 protein remain essentially unknown yet. More accurate description of tertiary and quarternary structure could open the way for research of its role in life cycle of the TBEV virus and other flaviviruses and can lead for the development of new anti-viral vaccination and/or treatment. The main aim of this study was to prepare sufficent amount of tick-borne encephalitis virus NS1 protein to produce polyclonal antibodies and do functional and structural analyses. Therefore NS1 protein was expressed as his-tagged fusion protein in bacterial expression system. Our results showed that tick-borne encephalitis virus NS1 is difficult to expressed and yields aret too low to follow-up analyses yet.eng
