dc.description.abstract-translated | The aim of the study was to analyze the infectious potential of the newly described species of borrelia, that was studied on the model laboratory animals (mice and gerbils), infected with B. americana and B. carolinensis. We confirmed that B. carolinensis is able to infect mice and gerbils and is able to dissimilate into different animal organs. The ability of B. americana to infect the mice under used experimental conditions was not confirmed. Further experiments on different animal models (avian, for example) are required. | eng |
