Diplomová práce se zabývá učebnicemi anglického jazyka a obrazem společnosti, který učebnice poskytují. Analýza učebnic je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních částí. Pozornost je věnovaná způsobu zobrazení mužů a žen, zobrazení osob majících odlišnou barvu pleti, lidí s handicapem a starých lidí. Cílem práce je co nejpřesněji popsat způsob zobrazení výše zmíněných lidí a zhodnotit adekvátnost přístupu prezentovaného v učebnici. Výsledky analýzy slouží k vyvození závěrů,
na základě kterých je vypracováno hodnocení učebnic. Diplomová práce umožňuje pedagogům snadnější orientaci v problematice učebnic a uvádí kritéria, která by měla být zohledněna při jejich výběru. | cze |

The diploma thesis deals with English coursebooks and the image of human society they present. The analysis of textbooks is divided into four main parts. Attention is payed to the way men and women, people of varied types of skin, disabled and old people are represented within the textbooks. The aim of the thesis is to describe the style people mentioned above are described in. The results
of analysis help to draw conlusions which are essential for formulating
the evaluation of textbooks. The diploma thesis provides for an uncomplicated orientation in the field of textbooks and mentions the crucial criteria for choosing
