| dc.description.abstract | Cílem diplomové práce Vzpoura ženských hrdinek proti konvencím soudobné společnosti v díle D. H. Lawrence a E. M. Forstera je analýza chování žen v protikladu s předsudky a morálními principy viktoriánské společnosti konce 19. století. Vzdor románových ženských postav je zde prezentován jako jejich forma boje za větší nezávislost ve vztazích k mužům, jako boj vůči přetrvávajícím principům zkostnatělé morálky tehdejší společnosti a v neposlední řadě boj za volební práva a práva na vzdělání. Vyústění jejich snah není ani snadné ani rychlé, ale se sílícími tendencemi pokrokového hnutí v kulturních a společenských oblastech se jim postupně daří dosáhnout svých cílů. | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | The aim of the thesis called Heroines´ Revolt against Convention of Contemporary Society in D. H. Lawrence´s and E. M. Forster's Masterpieces is an analysis of women´s behavior in contrast with prejudice and moral principles of Victorian society in the 19th century. The novels' female characters' rebellion is presented in a form of a struggle for greater independence in their relationships with men and a fight against persistent rigid moral principles of the society and also their battle for voting rights and the rights for education. The outcome of their efforts is neither easy nor immediate but thanks to intensifying trends of progressive movement in cultural and social areas, they gradually succeed in achieving their goals. | eng |
