dc.description.abstract-translatedTemperature is a crucial environmental factor influencing growth and development of ectotherms, including all species of aquatic insects. The aim of this thesis is to summarize the knowledge about how temperature affects dragonfly larvae. The temperature influences the metabolism and the developmental rate of dragonfly larvae, as well as their behaviour and their distribution. In addition I discussed, how these effects could influence the fitness of individuals. The review is complemented with a pilot experiment where the larvae of the dragonfly Sympetrum vulgatum (Libellulidae) were exposed to two different temperatures. During this research project, my aim was to investigate how the larvae's metabolism, survival and growth are changing dependeing on the temperature.eng
