dc.description.abstract-translated | The aim of this bachelor thesis was to uncover the role of repetitive sequences in sex chromosomes diversifications in three white butterfly species of genus Pieris. I tested variability in W chromosome appearance in the species under study and the presence of W-linked satellite sequences. My results reveal large differences among W chromosomes in studied species. The fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed that one of the selected satellites (CL26) is localized on the W chromosome of P. brassicae and another (CL 187) is localized on the W chromosome of P. napi. The rest of the selected satellites is autosomal. | eng |
