dc.description.abstract-translated | This bachelor thesis discusses the effects of tolytoxin and its structural variant 7 O methylscytophycin B from the scytophycin family of macrolides on cancer and primary cell lines. The two main goals of this study was to compare the chemical structure and the effects of both toxins on cancer and primary cell lines and whether the cells treated by these agents go through regulated cell death, specifically the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis. In the last chapter, the potential use of these toxins in future cancer research and clinical use are discussed. | eng |
