| dc.description.abstract | Tato práce se zabývá transgender lidmi v roli klientů a klientek sociální práce. Cílem práce bylo zmapovat zkušenosti transgender lidí se sociální prací v českém prostředí. V teoretické práci jsem popsal základní pojmy týkající se transgender problematiky včetně jejího současného legislativního rámce a jeho potenciální vývoj. Součástí teoretické části je i seznam organizací zabývajících se podporou pro transgender lidi v různých oblastech.
Pro zpracování praktické části jsem zvolil kvalitativní přístup, konkrétně techniku narativních rozhovorů. Mými komunikačními partnery a partnerkami byli/y transgender lidé se zkušeností s poskytováním sociální služby. Data jsem analyzoval postupem vycházejícím ze zakotvené teorie.
Na základě analýzy rozhovorů a porovnání s doporučeními pro tuto cílovou skupinu jsem zjistil, že základní specifickou potřebou transgender lidí využívajících sociální služby je přijetí jejich genderové identity ze strany sociální pracovnice. Další významná potřeba transgender lidí pak spočívá v očekávání, že sociální pracovnice bude dostatečně informovaná o této problematice. Pokud jsou tyto potřeby naplněny, pozitivně to ovlivňuje kvalitu spolupráce s transgender klienty a klientkami. Informovanost a postoj pracovníků je v Česku nejednotný, což se odráží na velkých rozdílech mezi zkušenostmi transgender lidí se sociálními službami. Zkušenosti transgender lidí ukázaly na potenciál pobytových služeb vystavovat transgender klienty více konfrontačním situacím než ambulantní služby. Praxe se však liší dle přístupu konkrétních pracovníků a služeb.

| dc.description.abstract-translated | This thesis explores the topic of transgender people as clients of social work. Its goal is to examine transgender experiences in the context of Czech social work. The first part is theoretical and focuses on terminology and current situation, mentioning legal framework and possible developements. The theoretical part includes a list of LGBT+ organisations which provide diverse kinds of support to transgender people.
I chose qualitative approach for exploring this topic and conducted narrative interviews. For this purpose I contacted transgender people who had the experience of being clients of social services. I analysed the outputs by the open coding method inspired by the Grounded Theory.
Based on the comparison between the interviews and expert advice I found out the following: the basic need among transgender clients of social work is for their experienced gender identity to be recognised and respected. It is also important for the quality of their mutual interaction that the social worker is aware of transgender issues. However, based on the collected transgender experiences, those needs are not always met. The level of knowledge on this topic and their stance varies among social workers in the Czech Republic. Finally, this thesis poses a question, whether social services providing accomodation might potentially expose transgender clients to more confrontational situations where gender is an improtant factor. Yet, it is concluded that the overall approach of the service matters the most.
