| dc.description.abstract | Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat souvislosti mezi různými druhy ošklivosti a strachem či hrůzou na příkladu reprezentativních textů žánru literárního hororu, který mj. rozvíjí tradiční spojení mezi ošklivostí a (morálním) zlem. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována tzv. gotickému románu, estetice romantismu a jejímu ?prodloužení? v literatuře konce 19. století. Práce se bude snažit popsat a odůvodnit paradoxní přitažlivost monstrozity a rovněž se pokusí zachytit vývoj ošklivosti jako prostředku vzbuzování hrůzy od počátků literárního hororu po významné představitele tohoto žánru ve 20. století. | cze |

| dc.description.abstract-translated | The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to explore connections between various kinds of ugliness and fear or terror, using representative texts of gothic fiction which among others evolves convetional connection between the ugliness and (moral) evil. Special attention will be attend to so-called gothic novel, the aesthetics of Romanticism and its "extension" in literature of the end of the 19th century. The Bachelor thesis will seek to describe and justify paradoxical attractiveness of monstrosity and also will seek to capture the development of ugliness as a medium of inducing the feeling of terror from the origin of the gothic fiction to notable representatives of this genre in the 20th century. | eng |
